Artistic Effects
Artistic Effects category includes different effects that give your photo a unique and creative look and feel.

Artistic effects include lots of fun effects we think you'll love applying to your photos. We built the interface so you can literally click and get your effects with an instant result.

As you can see from the example above, the interface is very simple. Your photo is shown on the left and effect examples are shown next to it. To apply the effect click on the effect example you like and in a few seconds your photo will show the new effect applied to the preview. It is sometimes helpful to click the Show Original | Show Enhancement links below the preview so you can flip back and forth to see the changes the effect has applied to your photo.

For many of the effects that apply borders, frames, edges or otherwise reshape the outside of your effect leaving a background area shown around the photo. You can define the color that appears behind the photo by clicking on the Background Color button:

This will bring up a color picker that lets you set the color you want to put behind the photo:

If you are planning on applying the same color to different photos in the future you should write down the values shown in the Hex Field so you will have consistent color results:

You can then enter these values into the color picker by clicking in the field and then pressing the backspace key to delete the current value and then typing in the one you have recorded.

YOU MUST CLICK THE EFFECT AGAIN TO APPLY THE NEW BACKGROUND COLOR AND TO UPDATE THE PREVIEW.

Once you have narrowed down the effect you are looking for using the smaller preview controls, you can generate a larger preview. To do this, click on the Create Larger Preview link:

As soon as the effect is rendered on the larger image the page will change to show you the larger effect applied to your photo. Scroll around to view the photo. Click the Show Original | Show Enhancement to compare the differences the effect makes to your image. Click the Return button to go back to the smaller preview and effect examples display.

When you are ready to apply your photo to your image click the Apply button at the top of the page:

YOU CANNOT UNDO THE EFFECT ONCE YOU HAVE CLICKED THE APPLY BUTTON.
If youa re unsure about apply an effect, we recommend you use the Album Manager > Photo Controls > Move / Copy Photos to create a copy of the photo you can play around with.

To view the different effects for Artistic Effects click on the menu located above the Effect Examples and then select a category of effects you want to view.

Once you have selected a category of effects you will see examples of the effects. Click on the effect example you want to apply to the currently selected photo.
